We are pleased to announce that we have appointed our Board for 2020 – 2021. 

There were seven positions available, for which we received six nominations. Therefore, all nominees will be confirmed at our 2020 AGM and will begin their term at their first Board meeting in November.

The nominees were:

• Ben Cain (James and Wells)
• Conor Quinn (Biz Star International)
• Leanne Elder (Leanne Elder)
• Leon De Fourie (Toi Ohomai)
• Peter Williams (Veros Property Services)
• Tom Beswick (Ingham Mora)

They join our existing Board Members: Anne Blakeway, Fiona MacKenzie, Tony Snow, Sam Tabak and Sam Williamson.

Come our AGM in November, Glen Lindsay and Gail Page will be stepping down. We thank them for their time spent on the Board and their contribution towards the governance of the Chamber.

While many of our nominees are returning Board members, we have two new members: Ben Cain and Peter Williams (pictured, left to right). .

Ben Cain

Ben is currently a Senior Associate in the litigation team at James & Wells, intellectual property lawyers and attorneys. He has been with James & Wells since November 2009, when Ben completed a law degree at Te Piringa – Faculty of Law, University of Waikato.

Prior to attending Te Piringa (2007-2009), Ben spent nine years in marketing roles for various household brands in the UK (1992-2000) and New Zealand (2000-2001), and more than five years in account management roles for branding agencies in Wellington and Auckland (2001-2007). All combined, Ben has 28 years’ commercial experience.

Peter Williams

Peter is the co-director and director of Veros Property Services.

He leads a team of exceptional property, project and development management experts at Veros. His leadership skills and business acumen, alongside his ability to establish and execute a clear business vision, has positioned Veros as one of the leading boutique property, project and development management companies in New Zealand.

As a business owner, Peter is part of the local business community and would welcome the opportunity to be part of the Chamber of Commerce leadership, to advocate for and champion the needs of local business.
