A great buzz was created on Wednesday night with a small, but perfectly suited, attendance at Exceed Franchise’s BA5.
We all met in the downstairs storeroom, cunningly transformed into a gathering room. Tony Burnette, General Manager of Exceed, went over what Exceed do, then introduced the team.
Exceed on the surface ‘fixes windows and doors’, but it is so much more, having grown into one of New Zealand’s leading examples of great franchises.
Founded by Dave and Karen Dovey in Wellington 31 years ago, they now have 25 agencies from far north to deep south, and have added a business that supplies all the products that each of those franchisees need to do business.
Exceed has also become heavily involved with St John’s and sponsored AEDs (defibrillators) in public spaces with 24-hour access, two alone situated on the Mount.
As they pointed out, while there may be a number around the city, it is the 24-hour public access that matters, because getting that assistance within four minutes can often be the difference between life and death. We got a demonstration on just how easy it is to use a defib and was shown that you get clear instructions from the machine.
From there, we were taken on a tour of the business and the networking continued. What never ceases to amaze me is the connections that people make at our BA5 – it is not about ‘sales’, but about being aware of the each other’s businesses, and how we can work together for a better result.
Thank you Exceed for hosting a wonderful evening.
