Event recap: BWN Women in Construction with Tiny House Builders

A wonderful group of women from our Business Women’s Network (BWN) travelled to Katikati last week to hear from an innovative and entrepreneurial woman in business: Rebecca Bartlett from Tiny House Builders.

This was our first Women In… event and was designed to connect our BWN community to a business owner in a particular sector and showcase their career journey.

Bringing charisma and a welcoming warmth, Rebecca was the perfect host to launch our new event series.

Tiny House Builders started as a hobby for her father – something to keep him busy into retirement – but Rebecca never imagined that four years later creating tiny homes would be a viable and thriving business.

Before starting the business, Rebecca had been working in Auckland in roles that included designing and implementing corporate office fit-out for large organisations – a skill which has equipped her for running a tiny home business. She then relocated to the Bay to be closer to family and start her own, and is thankful she made the move.

With a husband and two kids, Rebecca’s set-up brings a whole new meaning to the ‘working from home’ lifestyle and shares this love of where she lives with her clients.

Rebecca and her dedicated team of family and staff alike have been well and truly swept up in the tiny home craze, with orders coming in left, right and centre. To mitigate this growth, Rebecca is working hard to put systems in place to ensure the business maintains its boutique nature, the quality of every build and strong interior design considerations, all while meeting this new demand.

Beautifully crafted, Tiny House Builders work with each clients’ needs to develop practical, loveable spaces without feeling like you have compromised on the way you like to live your life.

With a ‘wow’ moment at every turn, it’s incredible the amount of detail the team can pack into a compact space. Whether you want a family home, a place to retire or you’re looking to emulate trendy wine bar vibes in your own home, Rebecca really can make your vision a reality.

With a franchise model in mind, it is obvious Rebecca is a savvy business woman, but she’s also community minded as well. She’s particularly passionate about supporting fellow women in the tiny home industry, especially with two fellow tiny house builders in the Katikati area alone.
