Tauranga City Council is reviewing how it represents you, as an individual and as a part of the business community.
Its current representation arrangements have been in place since 2010. It needs to ensure that the model used provides fair and effective representation for residents, in preparation for the next local body election.
The team will be considering:
- The total number of councillors appropriate for Tauranga
- Whether councillors should be elected from wards or by a mix of both wards and at large (across the city)
- The boundaries of wards
- Whether there should be community boards and, if so, what these would involve.
Before undertaking a formal consultation process, Tauranga City Council would like to understand your initial preferences.
