How we handle your information

We collect only what we need to provide our services, and we do not sell or trade your information. This page explains what that means in practice.

What we collect

Contact details you give us when you join, register for an event, subscribe to a newsletter, request business support, or submit documents for certification. For business support and employment services we may also collect information about your business or your work history, because the funders of those programmes require it.

We also collect basic analytics about how this website is used, so we can make it more useful.

How we use it

To deliver the service you asked for, to tell you about events, training and news relevant to your business, and to report anonymised, aggregated outcomes to the agencies that co-fund our programmes.

We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information.

Who we share it with

Only where it is necessary to deliver a service. For example TradeWindow for export certification, or MBIE and the Regional Business Partner Network where you have accessed a co-funded programme. Those parties are bound by their own privacy obligations.

Newsletters

Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe. You can also email us and we will remove you.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email chamber@tauranga.org.nz and we will respond within twenty working days.

Storage and security

Information is held in secure, access-controlled systems, and only staff who need it can see it. We keep records only as long as we need them, or as long as our funding agreements require.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for basic functionality and anonymous analytics. You can block them in your browser; some parts of the site may then not work as intended.
